Finding work
can be tough
As you
know it can be tough to find an decent employer even if you are an
established professional with a clutch of recognized
qualifications and eons of experience. If not then it is

today's employers are often overwhelmed by applications, whilst
only have time to speak to the small handful of candidates that
they are keenest to employ and sifting through two hundred CVs

are brought in to help whittle down the pile.

as the agency is only paid for successful placements so will
dedicate all of their time to the most promising few candidates,

Are you
selling yourself short?
Having
read through thousands of CVs whilst working in recruitment, I know
from experience that many otherwise excellent employees have poorly
structured or badly written CVs and are suffering needlessly as a
result.
The truth is that your CV is generally the first thing that employers see, meaning that you will be judged entirely by your CV.
If your CV doesn't cut the mustard it really doesn't matter how
charming you are in person, as you will never get the chance to
meet anyone face-to-face anyway.

How much is
your CV really worth?
Look at it this way:
If you are applying for job paying ?20,000 pa, that equates to
an income of about ?400 per week.
So,
if your new CV were to help you to secure a job just one week
quicker then you would be ?400 better off!
Now, if you are more senior and applying for jobs paying nearer ?40,000 pa and your
new CV helps you to secure a top job just two weeks sooner
then you would be a whopping
?1,600* better
off,

This, of course, presumes that your current CV
will get you a foot in the door to begin with.
If not, then a new CV is absolutely
